I’ve always loved collecting plushies to brighten up my bed, but one day I realized something was missing — a green plantain plushie. As a proud Dominican, plantains are part of my daily life: mangú for breakfast, tostones at lunch, maduros with dinner. They’re more than food — they’re comfort.

I searched the internet high and low, but all I could find were yellow banana plushies. Cute, but not the same. That’s when I decided to create my own. I sketched out a design, reached out to manufacturers, and after months of trial and error, the Plantain Plushie was born.
